Position: Part-Time Security Guard - Empire Life

Site: Empire Life - 259 Ontario St E

Hours: Saturday/Sunday 2030-0830

Payrate: $19.00/hour

Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Job Responsibilities:

  • Proactive & reactive security patrols
  • Response to incidents
  • Report writing
  • Investigate routine incidents
  • De-escalate situations involving dealing, drinking, and fighting to ensure that all areas are covered and secured at all times
  • Ensure that individuals are not trespassing/loitering
  • Access control into building
  • Intervene in medical emergencies
  • Liaise with emergency responders, clients, and Paladin management
  • Surveillance monitoring
  • Additional duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Valid Security License for Ontario
  • Valid Standard First Aid & CPR - Level C + AED (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
  • Successful completion of onboarding and site training
  • Able to stand for up to 12 hours per shift
  • Able to complete extensive patrolling of site
  • English communication (oral and written) required
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)
    • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
    • Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite, however Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6 month commitment to the position/availability
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
