Key Duties and Responsibilities:
● Safely produce quality parts on schedule
● Run tooling and machinery to optimize production and quality to meet customer requirements
● Able to troubleshoot unique problems with parts, fixtures or tooling
● Change tools, inserts and adjust offsets as required to maintain tolerances
● Complete daily machine maintenance
● Check own parts against drawings in various stages of production
● Identify irregularities in parts and non conformance to quality standards
● Follow all safety and ISO procedures and responsibilities accurately completing appropriate paperwork
● Assist with training of Machinist Apprentice
● Perform other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
● Minimum three to five years work experience in a jobbing shop environment is an asset
● Prior experience with large horizontal or vertical boring mills or lathes and G-Code or Heidenhain CNC control an asset
● Intricate set up and programming skills are an asset
● Minimum experience rigging and machining parts that are 8 feet x 20 feet or larger and minimum 25 tons up to 70 tons in weight
● Interpret manufacturing drawings. Knowledge of GD&T an asset.
● Able to use and read machinists measuring equipment
● Understanding of machinery and equipment and material tolerances
● Must have good time management, problem-solving skills, initiative and a commitment to tasks
● Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
● ISO 9001:2015 experience is an asset
● Overhead crane and forklift experience is an asset
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $36.00-$38.00 per hour
