Most budtender postings are for stores that sell someone else's products. Kingston Cannabis Inc. is different: we hold six licences and operate across nearly every side of legal cannabis in Canada.

• We produce and sell our own brand of cannabis products — made by us, not shipped in from a faceless supplier
• We have in-house specialists in packaging and printing — the products on our shelves are designed, packaged, and branded by our own team
• We hold a dealer's licence and are actively engaged in scientific research
• We're locally owned and independent — and we're building toward a consumption lounge

When you sell our products, you're telling a story you actually know, about products made by people you work with. Nobody else on the floor of any other shop in Kingston can say that.

Who We're Looking For

Someone who genuinely loves cannabis and is great with people. That's the whole formula. If you light up talking about strains, formats, and effects — and customers leave your counter happier than they arrived — you're who we want. We'll deepen your product knowledge and teach you everything about how cannabis is produced, packaged, and sold. The passion and the warmth have to be yours.

What You'll Do

• Welcome customers, learn what they're looking for, and guide them to the right products
• Be the voice of our own product line — you'll know the story behind it because you'll know the people who make it
• Build deep product knowledge across our cannabis library — strains, formats, potency, and effects
• Handle cash and payment transactions accurately
• Keep the store stocked, clean, and looking sharp, including opening and closing duties
• Verify ID and follow all AGCO regulations every single time — no exceptions
• Assist with deliveries (company vehicle provided) and consumption area duties as we grow
• Occasionally visit other licensed retailers to promote KCI and build industry relationships — on paid time

What We Offer

• $17.60/hour to start (rises automatically to $17.95 on Oct 1, 2026 with Ontario minimum wage), plus shared tips
• Guaranteed raise schedule: $18.50/hour at 6 months, $19.00/hour at 1 year
• Paid straight through: if you're booked 9 to 5, you're paid 9 to 5 — breaks included, on the clock. Most retailers dock your break; we don't
• 20% staff discount on all store items — including the products we make ourselves
• Three weeks of vacation earned per year — above the provincial standard
• Genuine room to grow: with six licences under one roof, retail is just the front door — production, packaging, research, and our planned consumption lounge are all part of where this role can lead

What We Need

• A genuine love of cannabis — the plant, the products, the industry
• Great with people: warm, engaging, and memorable at the counter
• 19 years of age or older (required by law)
• CannSell certification (or willing to obtain it before your first shift — it's a short online course)
• Reliability: you show up on time, every time
• Flexible and friendly — we're open 7 days a week (Mon–Fri 7 AM–9 PM, weekends 9 AM–9 PM), and our team flexes across mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays with a smile
• A valid driver's licence with up-to-date insurance — required, as delivery is part of the role
• Nice to have (not required): retail or hospitality experience
