Source, Kingston – Ontario, February 24, 2022 – The ACFOMI Board of Directors announces the retirement of its Executive Director, Michèle Dubois, in June 2022.
The departure of an executive director is a big announcement for an organization, but ACFOMI has developed a succession plan to ensure a thoughtful and efficient transition. The organization sincerely recognizes the invaluable contribution of Ms. Michèle Dubois and, while expressing its gratitude, will celebrate her accomplishments in a big way while wishing her a well-deserved retirement. Thanks to her leadership, ACFOMI is in perfect financial health, the team is competent and innovative and the excellent collaboration with partners is a guarantee of success. In addition, the projects meet the needs of the community, and despite the pandemic, the service offer has been maintained without interruption.
“Having a succession plan for the position of Executive Director was very important and I am proud that the Board of Directors has invested itself with tact and professionalism in this regard. We are certainly saddened by Ms. Dubois’ departure as she has developed and strengthened our important organization in the region. We have enthusiastically accepted her proposal to support an efficient and harmonious transition with the new general management,” said Élaine Constant, president of ACFOMI.
“A few weeks ago, we proudly completed our 2022-2027 strategic plan and are currently updating our operational plan. I am proud of all that we have accomplished together with the Board of Directors and the team. In a few months, I will be leaving the Executive Director position with mission accomplished. But I am not leaving ACFOMI without supporting the transition that will promote administrative continuity and the delivery of community services,” said Michèle Dubois, ACFOMI Executive Director.
The Association canadienne-française de l’Ontario – Conseil régional des Mille-Îles (ACFOMI) has been in existence since 1973 and represents more than 12,000 Francophones in the Thousand Islands region, which extends from Brockville to Belleville. ACFOMI works to welcome, develop, enhance the vitality of the French-speaking community of the Thousand Islands region through diversified programming and services.
