TRAINING WORKSHOPS

As part of the Welcoming & Settlement Centre of Kingston, ACFOMI in collaboration with the Cooperation Council of Ontario (CCO) presents a series of workshops on social and cooperative (co-op) entrepreneurship.

The Collective Entrepreneurship webinar series offers permanent residents training that will allow them to gain the knowledge to eventually create a social enterprise or co-op. This webinar series promotes collective entrepreneurship that allows immigrant newcomers to contribute to society and the local economy.

Social and Cooperative Entrepreneurship Training Workshops: Choosing the right legal form

Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at 5 p.m.

Are you confused about which form is best suited to your project and the laws governing businesses? This workshop will give you a better understanding of the differences between the existing legal forms in Ontario.  You will be able to register your project and manage it according to the appropriate administrative and governance rules.

Social and Cooperative Entrepreneurship Training Workshops: Estimating your launching costs

How much do you need to start your project? In this workshop, we will answer this tricky question. Participants will be able to understand the concept of budgeting and list the costs needed to start their projects.

Entrepreneurship Training Workshops: Exploring funding sources

Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 5 p.m.

Do you want to launch a project but don’t know how to access funding sources? During this workshop, participants will learn the basics of financing strategy and identify the different sources of financing needed to launch a business.
