TRAINING WORKSHOPS
As part of the Welcoming & Settlement Centre of Kingston, ACFOMI in collaboration with Impact ON, presents a series of workshops on social and cooperative (co-op) entrepreneurship.
The Collective Entrepreneurship webinar series offers permanent residents training that will allow them to gain the knowledge to eventually create a social enterprise or co-op. This webinar series promotes collective entrepreneurship that allows immigrant newcomers to contribute to society and the local economy.
Entrepreneurship Training Workshops: Estimating your launching costs

How much do you need to start your project? In this workshop, we will answer this tricky question. Participants will be able to understand the concept of budgeting and list the costs needed to start their projects.
Entrepreneurship Training Workshops: Exploring funding sources
Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at 5 p.m.
Do you want to launch a project but don’t know how to access funding sources? During this workshop, participants will learn the basics of financing strategy and identify the different sources of financing needed to launch a business.
Entrepreneurship Training Workshops: Mastering the art of the pitch
Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 5 p.m.
Presenting your project to clients or investors is quite an art! During this workshop, participants will practice pitch techniques in order to communicate their project ideas in an efficient, concise and passionate way. By developing a convincing and well-prepared pitch, participants will be able to give their project the best chance to succeed.
Entrepreneurship Training Workshops: Developing your network
Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 5 p.m.
Developing your network is vital to getting your project talked about! During this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to discover the concept of networking, its impact on supporting their projects and how to build it. By developing a solid network, they will be able to access new resources and find potential partners, clients, mentors and investors for their projects.
