Services for Job Seekers

ACFOMI Employment Services provides bilingual services to job seekers who want to integrate the labour market

or reorient their career. It also provides job seekers with information on various programs and subsidies offered

by Employment Ontario.

Our Employment Services team is dedicated to ensuring that both French and English youth and adults are prepared to find work that meets their expectations.

Assisted Services for Job Seekers

To access ACFOMI assisted services, job seekers can make an appointment with one of our Employment Advisors. Based on eligibility, job seekers will be able to access assisted services such as job search, job matching with or without placement incentives, and retention in employment and training.

Employment Advisors

Our dedicated team of employment advisors are here to help job seekers!

Here are a few things that our employment advisors can do for you:

  • Offer personalized appointments on employability, career counselling, and information on the local labour market
  • Provide tools and effective job search strategies
  • Assist in the preparation of resumes and cover letters
  • Help with personalized interview preparation and practices
Apprenticeship Training

Employers receive financial incentives when they hire, enroll or train an apprentice. Participants can receive information and support about the apprenticeship program.

Better Jobs Ontario

Better Jobs Ontario (formerly known as Second Career) is for unemployed individuals for which skills training is the most appropriate intervention to transition them into high-skill, in-demand occupations in the local labour market. Unemployed workers can be active EI claimants, EI Reachback or non-EI eligible.

Job Matching, Placement, and Incentives

The job matching component provides employers with financial incentives to offer on-the-job training, job trials, and skills assessments to unemployed job seekers.

At the end of a placement, job seekers will have recent work experience and additional skills to add to their resumes which will increase their chances of successfully finding long-term employment.

Job Retention & Training

We offer a wide range of flexible services that can be adapted to job seeker needs.

We provide information on local training and employment opportunities, community support resources, professional training requirements, and resources to support job searching.

We define and plan a career path to help job seekers make informed decisions about education, training, and employment.

Our Mission

ACFOMI strives to welcome, develop, fulfill, and vitalize the French-speaking communities in the Thousand Islands region.

Our Values

We believe in integrity, collaboration, relevance and benevolence.
