After releasing a first EP in 2017 and the album Petikat in 2018, he returned in 2022 with Tipatshimushtunan—produced by Louis-Jean Cormier. Backed by outstanding musicians, he delivers a live performance that is both festive and moving, infused with humour and sensitivity. Through lyrics inspired by his daily life, his community, and the Indigenous quest for identity, Matiu connects with audiences with authenticity and energy.\nKnown for his memorable performances, Matiu has toured throughout Quebec, across Canada, Europe, Texas, and Africa. He has performed at numerous festivals including the Francos de Montréal, the Festival d’été de Québec (FEQ), the FME, and Le Festif!
