Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform administrative duties associated with patient recruitment, including applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, as well as informing and documenting consent.
• Chart review and abstraction to collect study participant data.
• Provide assistance to participants with the completion of self-administered paper questionnaires and review questionnaires for completeness.
• Input and transfer collected data to REDCap.
• Work independently within guidelines provided by the Principal Investigator.
• Perform basic administrative services, such as scheduling, making appointments, word processing, faxing, copying, and filing. Prepare or, if routine, initiate correspondence, notes and memos.
• Undertake other activities as delegated in support of the study.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• University degree in a relevant field with some job-related experience or a three-year post-secondary program and several years’ job-related experience.
• On-the-job training will provide skills specific to the position.

SPECIAL SKILLS:
• Respects diversity and actively promotes inclusion in the workplace.
• Prior experience in a clinical research setting is a strong asset.
• Writing, basic editing and proofreading skills with an ability to pay attention to detail and accuracy.
• Organizational, problem-solving skills and time-management skills.
• Ability to focus even under pressure and with frequent interruptions.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Office and computer skills. Familiarity with the electronic medical record and REDCap are considered assets, but not are not required.
• Interpersonal and communication skills to deal with patients and staff.

DECISION MAKING:
• Determine if patients meet selection criteria for the prospective cross-sectional study.
• Review patient self-administered questionnaires to ensure completeness.
• Determine when it is necessary to seek advice or direction from the Principal Investigator with respect to study procedures.
• Determine work priorities within established deadlines.
• Respond to general enquiries, providing reasonable answers, or a means to find an answer if necessary. Redirect problems to Principal Investigator.
