Cunningham Swan LLP is looking for an IT Help Desk Technician (full-time, onsite, permanent)

As our ideal candidate, you will be responsible for a diverse range of tasks including exceptional technical support to staff while ensuring the seamless operation of technology systems and infrastructure.

About the Role:

Your day-to-day will be filled with the following responsibilities:

  • Analyze and resolve IT issues by providing fast, friendly, and effective Level 1 technical support in person, by phone, via email/chat or self-serve.
  • Document and track all technical support requests.
  • Support and educate end users in the systems and programs supported by the firm.
  • Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot desktop hardware, peripherals, and VoIP phone systems.
  • Assist in the installation, setup, and support of network infrastructure including installing and terminating cables, troubleshooting, and repairing damaged connections.
  • Assisting with security updates, patches, and compliance processes.
  • Maintain backup strategies, monitor backups, and perform testing as necessary to maximize availability and minimize failure recovery time.
  • Maintain and update IT inventory and assets.
  • Support and troubleshoot Microsoft Azure, Exchange, O365, and Admin Tenant.
  • Manage Active Directory, GPO, Intune, and lifecycle management of devices and applications.
  • Provide remote support via advanced remote desktop management tools.
  • Support Mac, Windows, Linux, and mobile devices with MDM solutions.
  • Assisting with the configuration and installation of various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, VPN)
  • Escalate complex incidents to third-party IT support efficiently and in a timely manner.

About You:

We are looking for candidates with the following education, experience, and attributes:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Computer Technologies, Networking, or Computer Sciences.
  • Minimum one year of experience in a similar role, preferably in a Windows Server environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Azure, Exchange, O365, Active Directory, and Intune.
  • Good technical knowledge of IPv4 data networking, analog and IP voice.
  • Experience with hardware/software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of networking (IP addressing, routers, switches, printers, Active Directory).
  • CompTIA+ and Network+ certifications are considered assets.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to demonstrate a professional demeanor and commitment to service excellence.
  • Ability to quickly learn new procedures and software programs.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in order to meet tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated willingness to take initiative and be proactive.
  • Willingness to work on-site, full-time with possible after-hours on-call support as needed.
